HOW TO GET HERE
The Aquis Querquennis Roman archaeological complex is located in Porto Quintela, within the Bande municipal parish, just 8 km from the parish capital, ensconced in the heart of the Baixa Limia – Serra do Xurés Nature Park, the Geres-Xurés Transfrontier Biosphere World Nature Reserve (RBTGX).
The area is transected by the Via Nova or Via XVIII, the major Roman road in the region linking Braga and Astorga.
A few meters from the site lies Porta de Bande and the Aquae Querquennae-Via Nova Translation Center, serving as the reception and information point for these important area resources. It also houses the museum dedicated to the Quarquernia (the Baixa Limia parish) during its most ancient times (from Prehistory to the Middle Ages).
