How to get there
In Porto Quintela, in the Bande Local Council, just 8 km. from the capital of the municipality, the Roman archaeological complex Aquis Querquennis is located, in the heart of the Baixa Limia – Serra do Xurés natural park, World Biosphere Reserve and transboundary park.
The Via Nova or Vía XVIII, the main Roman road, linking Braga and Astorga, crosses the place.
A few meters from the site is the Aquae Querquennae-Vía Nova Interpretation Center, reception point and information on these resources. It also houses the Quarquernia museum (the Baixa Limia region) in the oldest stage (from Prehistory to the Middle Ages).
